Olivier Grondeau was arrested in October 2022 (Mehr 1401) in Shiraz and later sentenced to five years in prison on national security-related charges. His family has repeatedly rejected these accusations, emphasizing that Grondeau traveled to Iran on a tourist visa due to his passion for Persian poetry.
