4 Prisoners Executed in Urmia Prison

HRANA News Agency – The death sentences of four prisoners with drug related charges were executed in the Central Prison of Urmia.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), four prisoners with drug related charges were hanged in the Central Prison of Urmia on March 14, 2017.

Their identities and details of their cases were provided by HRANA as follows:

Changiz Badozadeh / from ward 15

Ekram Hassanpour / son of Saeid / from Salmas / accused with carrying and storing 5 kilo heroin / had been held in prison since three years ago / from ward 15

Vahed Hamedi from Ardebil / son of Ebad / Chemical Veteran during the war / had been held in prison since 20 months ago / from ward 15

Kiomars Faridan (known as Delavar) / son of Abdulrahman / from Urmia / from ward 15 / he had two cases, one because of less than 100 gram drug and the second one for less than 500 gram and had been sentenced to twice execution but one of them had been reduced to life time imprisonment. His wife is imprisoned in women’s ward on charge of drug related crimes. His father, Afandi, was executed last September, his brother is kept in ward 14 with a life time imprisonment sentence, and his mother was recently released from this prison.
