HRANA – Ebrahim Rashidi, journalist and weblog writer from the province of Azarbijan, disappeared on Monday June 14, 2010 in the city of Ardibil.
On Monday afternoon this journalist and blogger was meeting with a friend at the Ardibil bazaar before disappearing on his way to his sister’s home. He has not been in contact with his family since.
HRANA – Mohammad Amin Rashidi of Mahabad was arrested several days ago by state security forces. According to Mokareban news agency, Mohammad Amin Rashidi is being held in Mahabad prison for working with groups that are opposed to the government.

HRANA – The family of a Kurdish teenager named “Yunis Sheikh Ahmadi” who was arrested by security forces in the city of Sanandaj are extremely worried as the lack of information about his condition continues.
According to reports received by HRANA, on Thursday, May 13, on one of the streets in the city of Sanandaj, police and security forces began to beat a Kurdish teenager named “Yunis Sheikh Ahmadi” and after arresting him took him to an unknown location.
Despite repeated follow-ups by his family with the judiciary and security agencies, there is still no information available about the fate of this Kurdish teenager.
HRANA – Dr. Matin Fattahian, a Kurdish citizen residing in Tabriz, has been arrested by security forces.
Based on reports received by HRANA, a Kurdish doctor residing in Tabriz by the name of Matin Fattahian has been arrested over the past week by the security forces in this city and has been taken to an unknown location.
Reports indicate that security forces raided the doctor’s residence and in addition to searching the home, confiscated some of his personal belongings.
HRANA – On May 4th, Tabriz intelligent agents arrested Hossein Mohammadi Alvar, a civil rights activist in Azerbaijan and a fan of Tractor Sazi F.C.
According to Savalan Sesi, a few hours after a phone call between this Azeri civil rights activist and the chairman of Tractor Sazi F.C., Tabriz intelligent agents went to Mr. Mohammadi’s father’s house and detained Mr. Mohammadi without an arrest warrant. They also confiscated his computer, books, and personal belongings.
His arrest took place shortly after his phone conversation with the chairman of Tractor Sazi F.C., in which Mr. Mohammadi requested a lawful action about an incident that occurred in a recent soccer game between Tractor Sazi and Sanat Mes Kerman. In that game, 13,000 Persian fans of Sanat Mes Kerman chanted racist slogans against Tractor Sazi team and Azeris, and Mr. Mohammadi demanded Tractor Sazi F.C. to peruse this incident through the Football Federation of Iran.
Furthermore, according to family members of Mr. Mohammadi, he called his home on May 8th and told his family that he has been kept in solitary confinement in Tabriz Intelligence Service.
Before this, Mr. Mohammadi was arrested on April 2nd while attending a gathering in support of Lake Urmia and was release on bail.
