Tahir Ghaderzadeh Sentenced to 91 Days in Prison

HRANA News Agency – Tahir Ghaderzadeh member of the teachers association of Kurdistan, was sentenced to 91 days imprisonment on charges of propaganda against the system due to setting up the teachers’ assembly and disturbing the public opinion.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Tahir Ghaderzadeh member of the teachers association of Kurdistan whose case was transferred to branch 5 of the general prosecutor and revolutionary court of Saghez, was sentenced to 91 days imprisonment on charge of propaganda against the system. Mahmoud Beheshti Returned to Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Mahmoud Beheshti Langroodi, teacher and trade unionist returned to Evin Prison after a 5-day Nowruz furlough.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mahmoud Beheshti Langroodi who was released from Evin prison for the Nowruz furlough with a number of other political prisoners on March 19, 2016, introduced himself to Evin prison by the end of the furlough on March 25, 2016. Appeals Court Upheld Rasoul Bodaghi’s Imprisonment Sentence

HRANA News Agency – Tehran Province Appeals Court upheld the sentence of three years in prison for Rasoul Bodaghi, imprisoned teacher in ward 7 of Evin Prison.

Abdul-Reza Ghanbari Released from Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Abdul-Reza Ghanbari, imprisoned teacher who had been initially sentenced to death and later his sentence had been reduced to 15 years of imprisonment, and eventually to 10 years of imprisonment, was released from Rajai Shahr Prison on March 16, 2016 with the abolishment of article 186.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), by abolishment of article 186 (enacted in 1996) of Islamic panel code in relation to the definition of “Moharebeh” (waging war against god) which has been changed in the new Islamic Panel code enacted in 2013; Mr. Ghanbari’s activism is not considered as “Moharebeh” in the new Islamic penal code article 279 because his activism was not armed, and by application of section B of article 10 of the new Islamic penal code he was retried, and he has been released on March 16, 2016 from Rajai Shahr Prison where he was serving his sentence. Aliakbar Baghani Released from Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Aliakbar Baghani, imprisoned teacher and vice President of the Teachers Union was released on the bail from Rajaee Shahr prison on March 21, 2016. This trade unionist, by the end of the sentence, according to the public prosecutor of Tehran will be on a short term furlough on the bail until he will be sent to the exile to the city of Zabol.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Aliakbar Baghani, general secretary of the Iranian Teacher Union had been sentenced to one year imprisonment and 10 years in exile to Zabol city in relation to his case in 2010 on charge of propaganda against the state by branch 26 of the revolutionary court headed by Judge Pirabbasi and was released on the bail from Rajaee Shahr prison on March 21, 2016. Mahmood Beheshti Visited his Family without Prison Uniform

HRANA News Agency – Mahmood Beheshti Langaroodi, imprisoned teacher and trade unionist, could visit his family without wearing prison uniform. This imprisoned teacher was deprived of visiting for refusing to wear the prison uniform during past weeks.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mr. Beheshti had expressed the reason of his refusal from wearing prison’s uniform, as “preserving his dignity as a human being, teacher and union activist”. Behnam Ebrahimzadeh Deprived of Medical Furlough

HRANA News Agency – The Court verdict of 7 years, 10 months and 15 days in prison for Behnam (Asad) Ebrahimzadeh, imprisoned labor activists in Rajai Shahr prison, has not been communicated to him in writing yet and his family is trying to get a furlough permission for him.

One of this imprisoned labor activist’s close relatives in an interview told HRANA, Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran: “Mr. Ebrahimzadeh’s family went to see Mr. Hajiloo, at Tehran Prosecutor’s Office, to apply for furlough. They were given a letter addressed to the Central Forensic Office located in St. Somayeh, for confirmation of the disease of Nima Ebrahimzadeh, son of this imprisoned labor activist. The Central Forensic Office referred them to the Forensic Office in West Tehran and then to Imam Khomeini hospital and next Wednesday they will get the result”. ITF Condemns Imprisonment Sentence of Reza Shahabi

HRANA News Agency – The International Transport Workers’ Federation condemned the imprisonment sentence of Reza Shahabi and by describing it as inhuman and illegal, asked for his unconditional release.

Imprisoned Teacher Prohibited of Visiting his Family for the Second Time

HRANA News Agency – Mahmoud Beheshti was deprived of close visit with his family because of continued refusal to wear prison uniform like last week and had a cabin visit with them. ITTA former and imprisoned spokesperson said that according to the law, political defendants had no obligation to wear prison uniform.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), during the last week and despite this imprisoned teacher’s wife’s follow up, by attending the Prosecutor’s Office and contacting prison Assistant Prosecutor, still they are refusing to consider his demand of not wearing prison uniform. Imprisoned Teacher Prohibited of Visiting his Family

HRANA News Agency – Mahmoud Beheshti Langeroudi, imprisoned teacher, chose to relinquish his right to prison visit by not wearing a prison uniform in order to “protect his dignity and integrity as a human and as an imprisoned teacher and teachers’ union activist”. While the imprisoned teacher’s family were waiting in the visitation hall holding a permit from the prosecutor’s office, he refused to wear the prison uniform and has called the insistence of the authorities of Ward 7 on him to wear the prison uniform illegal.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mahmoud Beheshti’s family were present on time at the prison for the private visitation which is only allowed once a month, and after the routine procedure and about one and half hour of waiting in the visitation hall, prison authorities notified them that the visit had been cancelled.
