A prisoner hanged in Orumieh prison
HRANA News Agency – A prisoner of drug-related crimes was executed in Central prison of Orumieh.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 3 prisoners of drug-related crimes in Central prison of Orumieh who were sentenced to death were taken to solitary confinement for conducting the sentence on September 3rd. However, on Thursday 4th September, execution of two of them was postponded but the third person, named Alaedin dijoihar was hanged in this prison. A cyber activist sentenced to 3 years in prison
HRANA News Agency – Sohail Arabi, a defendant of Cybercrime was sentenced to three years in prison on Wednesday 3rd September 2014.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Soheil Arabi, cyber activist was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment in total by the Branch 15 of Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided by Judge Salvati with accusation of insulting the leadership and propaganda against the regime. Christian prisoners charged with offences which can lead to death
HRANA News Agency – At least two newly converted Christian prisoners were accused with “Enmity against God and state” and “spreading corruption on Earth” which can result in death penalty if it is proved in the court. Also, another person was charged with “Propaganda against State”.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), during the last week, “Reza Rabani” and “Abdolreza Ali Haghnejad” – two newly converted Christian prisoners- were charged with “Enmity against God and State” and “spreading corruption on Earth” at Karaj Islamic Revolutionary Court. Gathering of Karoon Supporters in Ahwaz
HRANA News Agency- On Thursday 4 September, 2014, hundreds of Ahwaz citizens gathered at Kianpars bank of Karoon River on a request by Environmental Activists in support of Karoon and to protest against the process of transferring water from it.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on 4 August, 2014, hundreds of protestors gathered in support of Karoon River in Ahwaz at 6:00pm. The protest took place at Ahwaz Central Library on a request by Environmental Activists to complain about the transfer of Karoon River water to other cities which can endanger this river’s existence. Protesting Environmental Activists formed a human chain and demanded an urgent attention from “FAO organisation”, “UN” and “Gary Lewis the UN Resident Coordinator in the Islamic Republic of Iran” to this river’s situation and asked them to help stopping the process of transferring water from it. High bail set for three Bahais in Tehran; four remain in prison
HRANA News Agency – On September 3, Branch 4 of the court at Evin Prison set bail for three Bahais arrested in Tehran: Babak Mobasher, Nasr `Arshi Moqaddam, and `Ata’ollah Ashrafi.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the family of the three detainees were informed by telephone from Evin prison that bail for Babak Mobasher and Naser Arshi Moqaddam was set at 25 billion Rials (700,000 euros or 938,000 US dollars), while 20 billion Rials (560,000 euros or 750,000 US dollars) was demanded for `Ata’ollah Ashrafi’s temporary release. Four Christians arrested in Isfahan
HRANA News Agency – Four newly converted Christians were arrested in separate operations by security forces and transferred to a detention centre controlled by Ministry of Intelligence and National Security in Isfahan.
