Fatemeh Ziyaei is released from Evin prison

HRANA News Agency – Fatemeh (Houri) Ziyaei Azad, the political activist and former prisoner of 80s, is released from women`s ward of Evin prison last Thursday.

 

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), this political prisoner, who has passed her jail time in a bad physical and health condition, due to her age and her MS disease, has been released on Thursday October 17 morning. (more…)

Appeal court confimed Masumeh Dehghan’s imprisonment sentence

HRANA News Agency – The appeal court confirmed the one year in prison, and five years ban from country departure sentence, of Masumeh Dehghan, Abdolfattah Soltani’s wife.

 

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), one year in prison and five years country departing interdiction sentence of Masumeh Dehghan, the retired teacher and the wife of Abdolfattah Soltani, has been confirmed, in the branch 54 of Theran appeal court. (more…)

No medical treatment for Zeynab Jalalian /She is on verge of blindness

HRANA News Agency – Zeynab Jalalian, th political prisoner of the women’s ward of Kermanshah Diesel Abad prison has been denied medical treatment and furlough and is in critical health condition.

According to the report of Human Rights News Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), she has been suffering from vision problems for a long time and recently is not able to see any more. (more…)

Roya Saeidi is still under arrest

HRANA News Agency – Roya Saeidi, the political activist who has been arrested three months ago by intelligence service and security forces, is still kept in women’s ward of Evin prison in an undecided state.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Roya Saeidi was arrested last June in her home, by intelligent forces, and after inspection of her house, they impound her personal accessories. (more…)

A Kurdish young girl committed suicide and died

HRANA News Agency – A young 21 years old Kurdish girl from Salmas whose name is Ramesh Mamedi the daughter of Khaled committed suicide and hanged herself.

 

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on August 27 Ramesh Mamedi ,21 , the daughter of Khaled and from Agh Borzeh village belongs to Salmas municipality hanged herself at home because of internal family conflicts and issues and passed away afterwards. (more…)

Fariba Pazhuh has been released

HRANA News Agency – Fariba Pazhuh, the reformer journalist has been released from prison.

Faeze Hashemi will be tried again

HRANA News Agency – Faeze Hashemi is going to be tried in the branch 15 of the revolutionary court of Tehran on August 7, 2013.

 

According to a report by Fars News Agency quoting from Gholam Ali Riyahi, Faeze Hashemi’s lawyer, she is going to be tried in the branch 15 of the revolutionary court of Tehran on charge of disturbing the order of the prison when she was serving her 6 months imprisonment sentence in Evin prison. Gita Rezaie was arrested in Kermanshah airport

HRANA News Agency – On June 18, 2013 Gita Rezaie Zeinalani was arrested by security agents in Ashrafi Esfahani airport of Kermanshah while she was going to get in into the airplane to Tehran and was transferred to an unknown location.

 

Naghi Mahmoudi said to HRANA “The same night the agents inspected her house and confiscated her computer and her personal belongings.” (more…)

Female students banned from engineering fields

HRANA News Agency – New criteria defined for graduate programs ban female students from studying in seven different engineering fields at Isfahan University of Technology.

According to a report by Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA), Isfahan University of Technology will no longer admit female students into graduate  programs to study agricultural engineering with a concentration in irrigation, animal science and machinery.  Female students have also been banned from obtaining masters degrees in natural resources engineering with a concentration in watershed and land management as well as desertification.  Furthermore, the university has adopted a policy to admit only male students to study water resources engineering.
