A Prisoner Severely Beaten in Saghez Prison

HRANA News Agency – Prison officials in Saghez prison beat a prisoner named Jamal Alipour after finding three cigarettes from him. The severity of the blows caused the internal bleeding of this prisoner.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), On Tuesday, January 2, 2018, Prison officials found three cigarettes from Jamal Alipour, the prisoner accused of robbery, after a physical inspection.
He was beaten therefore and the severity of the blows led to the internal bleeding of this prisoner.
It is reported that the prison clinic ignored the inappropriate condition of the prisoner despite the confirmation of internal bleeding, and had provided early service instead of sending him to the medical center out of prison.
The family of Jamal Alipour referred to General Directorate of Prisons of the Province to address the incident and medical condition of their son and filed a complaint there.
A source close to Mr. Alipour told HRANA’s reporter, “Mr. Abbaszadeh, interior director of prison, promised the family of the prisoner that he would be transferred to the forensic for medical and legal procedures but no action has been taken so far.”
