Security Officers Killed a Prisoner in Birjand Prison

HRANA News Agency – A prisoner named Abdul Rahman Naroui, died in Birjand after being beaten through electric shocker by prison guards. His body was delivered to forensic medicine autopsy. At the same time in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, a prisoner named Bahram Tajik was severely beaten by prison guards, the prisoner’s hands was fractured in several districts.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), On December 30, 2017, a prisoner named Abdul Rahman Naroui in Birjand prison in Southern Khorasan was taken to the office of security officer following a conflict with a number of detainees. He was beaten there and died.
A member of Naroui family informed HRANA’s reporter, On December 30, 2017 that Abdul Rahman had fought with another prisoner. The prison guard then transferred him to the office of security officer and beat him there.
The sources reported that three of the prison guards hit Abdul Rahman’s head and chest by electric shockers which killed Abdul Rahman Naroui.
The prisoner was serving the 9th year of his 15-year sentence on drug offenses in ward 105 of Birjand prison.
According to the prisoner’s family, he did not have a medical problem and background of illness.
Naroui family has filed a complaint against the agents. His body was delivered to forensic medicine autopsy.
On the other hand, On December 31, 2017, Bahram Tajik, death row prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, was severely beaten by prison authorities due to refusing to get transferred to another ward.
Bahram Tajik, 28, is held in hall 12 of ward 7 of Rajai shahr prison in Karaj.
The prisoner has been severely beaten after refusing to accept the order of warden. It is reported that his left hand has fractured at least at three areas. He has been transferred to ward 5 from hall 12 of ward 7 of Rajai shahr prison in Karaj.
