In the new wave of mass arrests following the outbreak of nationwide protest, security forces arrested Arash Effati and Meysam Beheshti and transferred them to an unidentified location.
According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, security forces arrested Arash Effati in Tabriz and Meysam Beheshti in Tehran.
The reasons for these arrests, charges and their whereabouts are unknown so far.
Since the outbreak of the Mahsa Amini protests, it is estimated that thousands have been arrested.
On September 17, 2022, Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman, died at a hospital after the Moral Police arrested her for improper hejab.
