Kamal Omidi Remains Detained in Khomein Prison for Over 40 Days

HRANA – Kamal Omidi, a language instructor and director of a language institute in Khomein, has been detained for more than 40 days and is currently being held in Khomein Prison without observance of the principle of separation of prisoners based on the nature of their alleged offenses.

According to information received by HRANA, Mr. Omidi is currently being held alongside prisoners convicted of violent crimes in Khomein Prison, without the observance of the principle of classification and separation of inmates. Since his arrest, he has been denied access to legal counsel and family visits.

A source close to the family, who confirmed the information to HRANA, stated: “The reasons for Mr. Omidi’s arrest remain unknown. During this period, he has had several monitored phone calls with his family, but he has not provided any information regarding the status of his case.”

Kamal Omidi was arrested in Khomein by agents of the IRGC Intelligence Organization in May 2026.

As of the time of writing, no information has been obtained regarding the charges brought against him.

Mr. Omidi, born in 1977, holds a Ph.D. in language studies and is the director of a language institute in Khomein.

Khomein: Nurse Seyed Behzad Saeedi Arrested and Sent to Prison

HRANA – Seyed Behzad Saeedi, a resident of Khomein, was arrested by security forces on Wednesday, October 22. He was charged the following day at the Khomein Prosecutor’s Office and subsequently transferred to the city’s prison under a two-month detention order.

A source close to the family confirmed the arrest to HRANA, stating: “Mr. Saeedi was arrested by agents of the IRGC Intelligence on Wednesday, October 22, at his father’s home and taken to The Ministry of Intelligence’s detention facility. After one day, he was brought before the Khomein Prosecutor’s Office, where he was charged with ‘assembly and collusion to act against internal security’ and ‘propaganda against the regime.’ Following this, the prosecutor issued a two-month detention order, and he was transferred to Khomein Prison.”

According to this informed source, “sending photos of sensitive locations in the city to foreign media” has been cited as an example of the charges brought against Mr. Saeedi.

Seyed Behzad Saeedi, born in 1990, is a nurse and a native and resident of Khomein.

A Woman Burned Her Husband With Acid for Polygamy

HRANA News Agency – In retaliation for polygamy, a young woman in Khomein County burned her husband with acid while he slept.

According to a report by the state media in Iran, the young woman has confessed to burning her husband with acid and has further explained to the investigators that she committed this act because her husband took a second wife.

This woman told the police, “My husband met another woman and married her while I knew nothing about it.  Our marital problems began then.  I sought to take my revenge.”

She added, “When my husband came back to see me, I decided to carry on my plan.  I obtained acid, and when he fell sleep, I throw acid into his face.  Because his face and eyes were burning, he woke up screaming with pain and asking for help.”

After her confession, this woman was booked and locked up behind bars.  Investigations into this act of revenge continue.  It has been reported that her husband’s face has burned severely, he was taken to the hospital while he was unconscious.
