12 Activists Tried in Tehran

HRANA News Agency – The trial of twelve civil rights activists, who had been arrested in front of Dena Tire building, was held in Branch 1044 of Tehran secondary Criminal Court.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Zartusht (Esmail) Ahmad Ragheb, Davood (Hushang) Nemati, Hamed Goudarzi, Ali Ebrahimi, Zahra Sadat Ebrahimi, and seven civil rights activists (ladies), who had been arrested in front of Dena Tire building, on charges of “disturbing public order (in favor of Erfan Halgheh) were tried at Branch 1044 of Tehran secondary Criminal Court, on 8th March.
This case is related to the arrest and detention of these activists at the gathering in Vanak Square, next to Dena Tire on 23rd November 2015, at the sit-in called “Mondays protest, Demanding justice” in support of the freedom of political prisoners.
The defendants in the case had demanded the judge to introduce himself as he had introduced himself as; “presiding judge of Branch 1044 of Criminal Court 2 of Tehran” and had refused to give his surname.
