25 Civilians Arrested in Ardabil

HRANA News Agency – On July 8, more than 25 Turkish (Azeri) activists were arrested by the police in the city of Ardabil. It is said that they wanted to hold a ceremony called ecotourism in Sabalan mountain slopes and in Shervan valleys.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), more than 25 Turkish (Azeri) activists who wanted to hold a ceremony called ecotourism in Sabalan mountain slopes and in Shervan valleys, were arrested by intelligence forces of the police in Meshkinshar and were taken to a police detention center in the city, on July 8.
The names of the activists who were arrested and have been identified by HRANA so far are: Rahim Gholami, Morteza Parvin, Mostafa Parvin, Saeed Sadeghifar, Mohammad Khakpoor, Ahmad Mohammadpur, Babak Mohsenzadeh, Abbas Balakhani, Mohammad Azhdari, Mehdi Hoshmand, Aziz Farazollahi and Rahim Noruzi.
One local activist told HRANA in this regard: “Security officials of Azerbaijan and Ardabil provinces, have limited cultural, artistic, sporting and recreational facilities so that earlier reports of arrests of activists in Mount Savalan, Babak Castle and stadiums were published.”
