4 Arab Civilians Arrested in Ahvaz

HRANA News Agency – Younes Alsorkhy, Adnan Bayanat, Harbi Alsary and Mustafa Obaidavi, four Arab civilians from Ahvaz have been arrested on Monday, July 4, 2016 and transferred to an unknown location. Probably their detention was due to calling for cleaning a street in the city for Eid al-Fitr prayers.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Younes Alsorkhy, Adnan Bayanat, Harbi Alsary and Mustafa Obaidavi, four Arab civilians from Ahvaz have been detained since Monday, July 4, 2016 due to calling for cleaning a street in the city for Eid al-Fitr prayers.
A close source to the detainees confirmed the news in an interview with HRANA’s reporter and said: “The four Arab citizens had invited people to clean Farahani Street in Ahvaz in Koye Alavi area to hold Eid al-Fitr prayer by a hashtag on the social networks.”
The source further pointed out: “The street is an important issue for the Arab citizens of the region and is very busy until after the Eid al-Fitr and the day before. And also the protests of the Arab citizens of the region occurred on this street in 2005.”
The source said: “Younes Alsorkhy had been also arrested almost two months ago during the flood relief. So far, the families of these citizens have no information about them despite all their efforts.”
