Abbas Lesani and His Wife Tried in Ardebil

HRANA News Agency – The trial of Abbas Lesani and his wife, Roghayeh Alizadeh, following previous summons was held at branch 1 of Ardebil Revolutionary court headed by judge Khodadadi on June 1, 2016.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Abbas Lesani, Turkish activist and his wife Roghayeh Alizadeh showed up at branch 1 of Ardebil Revolutionary Court and their hearing was held on June 1, 2016.
A source close to Mr. Lesani by announcing the news to HRANA’s reporter said: “The allegation of propaganda against the system was rejected by both of them. Mr. Lesani noted that the court should had been held publicly in accordance with Article 168 of the constitution and Mr. Khodadadi also said: ‘we will discuss based on the questions and no time remains for the jury and others.”
It should be noted that the charge was raised after the publication of Abbas Lesani’s audio message from Ardebil prison for protesting to the Fitileh program and also his wife was considered as a “partner in the crime” at the protest action.
Mr. Lesani, was held in exile Adel Abad prison of Shiraz and after the delay in being released, followed by a hunger strike after serving one year, he was released from prison on May 25.
