Alireza Hashemi Sent To Furlough

HRANA News Agency – Alireza Hashemi, Secretary General of the Iranian Teachers Organization, has been sent on furlough.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Alireza Hashemi, Secretary General of the Iranian teachers Organization and prisoner of ward 8 of Evin prison, has been sent on furlough.

He had been detained from 19th April this year and was sent to Evin prison to serve his 5-year imprisonment sentence which1 was issued in 2010.

An official of the Iranian Teachers Organization had previously said that gathering and colluding to disturb the national security and propaganda against the regime were part of Mr. Hashemi’s accusations in the court.

It is to say that Mr. Hashemi had been arrested once again on 14th March 2007 following the teachers gathering in front of the parliament, along with a group of union activists. At that time he was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment but the sentence against him was overturned after an objection and appeal.
