HRANA News Agency – Arash (Mohamad Sadegh) Honarvar Shojai, imprisoned cleric blogger, was released from the prison after serving his sentence.
According to the report of the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Arash Honarvar Shojai who had been sentenced on charges of propaganda against the regime and insulting the leadership, to four years imprisonment, 800,000 tomans fine, 50 lashes and defrocked from the priesthood for life after serving his sentence was released on January 2nd.
He is a graduate of seminaries and universities.
Mr. Shojaei had been admitted in different hospitals because of epilepsy and heart problems.
He had been arrested and sent to prison in October 2009 while security and intelligence forces broke in and raided his father’s house.
In his case there had been 20 charges of blasphemy, insulting the Supreme Leader, insulting Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, insulting the clergy, propaganda against the regime, gathering and colluding to disturb national security, espionage for the German government, spreading lies, cooperating with hostile states, responsibility for the project of westernisation of Islam, publication of banned books and faking handwriting of the Grand ayatollahs listed.
Finally, the set of the charges for the cleric blogger brought for him four years in prison, 50 lashes, pay eight million Rials and defrocked. He was sentenced again to 15 months imprisonment because of refusal of the defrocking sentence. And with acquitted charge of publishing falsehoods he was totally sentenced to five years and three months. During the last two years of his imprisonment he was suspended of furlough and upon completion of sentence he was released on January 2nd.
He often spent his sentence in Ward 350 of Evin and also the clergy Ward.
