Arash Sadeghi’s Medical Dossier Missing in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – The doctor who examined Arash Sadeghi in prison, claimed that “all of his medical documents and records have been lost”. Mr. Sadeghi after the end of his long hunger strike is suffering from chronic inflammatory diseases of the airways (asthma), bleeding in the stomach and intestinal colitis in light of the denial of medical care. The prisoner is also prevented from meeting his wife Golrokh Irai who is held in the women’s ward of Evin prison.
According to the report of Human Rights News Agency in Iran (HRANA), a doctor went to prison for examining Arash and several other prisoners. He had visited Arash Sadeghi in a short time and asked him about the record of the endoscopic examination, echo and spirometry. He responded that he had done them previously during the strike. The Medical examiner also added that if he had done such tests already, it might be that his medical documents and records had been lost, because they were not in his medical case.
The prisoner’s medical documents and records have been lost while IRGC intelligence insists on the denial of medical care.
HRANA had reported previously that the doctor at prison clinic with an emphasis on extreme protein poverty called for serum protein injection which requires his admission in the hospital because of the risk of blood clots.

Arash Sadeghi, imprisoned civil rights activist in Evin Prison, had started a hunger strike, demanding a fair trial to address the accusations against his wife, Golrokh Irai, and ended it after 71 days with the promise of the authorities, when his wife left the prison on January 3.
Arash Sadeghi, civil activist in ward 350 of Evin prison, has ended his hunger strike based on prosecutor’s promises, and was transferred to Imam Khomeini hospital in Tehran for one day and was returned to the prison again.
It should be mentioned that specialist doctors have confirmed that he had stomach bleeding up to 12.5%, shortage of hemoglobin (anemia), serious and severe lung infection and had to be hospitalized for at least 4 to 5 days.
However, due to the pressures by the prosecutor, prison security and Sarallh Corps, this prisoner was returned to Evin prison, on February 6, 2017.
