Department of Natural Resources Sues Baha’is Over Their Land

HRANA News Agency – A series of hearings regarding “Rowshan Kooh’s Baha’i residents’ lands” were held in Mazendaran province, based on complaints which had been made by the Department of Natural Resources, in the General Court in Kiasar within the first two weeks of February. Baha’i citizens, who were sued by the Department of Natural Resources, do not have access to adequate documents to defend their case.

The Appeal Court of 2 Labor Activists Held in Kurdistan

Nana Badrian Released on the Bail, Andrea Vartanyan Still under Detention

HRANA News Agency – Within the past few days, Nana Badrian was released from women’s ward of Evin prison. On the other hand, her husband, Andrea Vartanyan was transferred to ward 4 in Evin prison. The Christian couple from Tajikistan had been detained over a month ago by the intelligence ministry.

Poor Food Program in Tabriz Central Prison

HRANA News Agency – Since more than a month and a half ago, the diet which “includes cheese for breakfast, only rice for lunch, soup for dinner” has been served in Tabriz prison. This meal plan has been served under the pretext of repairing the kitchen by officials of the prison while most inmates could not afford to buy food from the prison shop and were malnourished. On the other hand, according to the families of the prisoners, the prisoners were prevented from being sent to the clinic with intestinal problems.

Atena Daemi Acquitted in the New Case

HRANA News Agency – Atena Daemi, imprisoned human rights activist was acquitted in the new case which was composed based on the complaint of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. On the other hand the prohibition of prosecution was issued for Ms. Daemi’s complaining against the institution, Ms. Daemi objected to the decision.

Gholam Reza (Rubin) Shahini Beaten and Transferred to Solitary Confinement

HRANA News Agency – On February 15, 2017, Gholam Reza (Robin) Shahini, an Iranian-American citizen in Gorgan prison was beaten and insulted by prison guardsand transferred to solitary confinement after announcement of hunger strike has. The condition of Mr. Shahini, who suffers from asthma is not known since being transferred to solitary confinement.
An informed source about the condition of Gholam Reza (Robin) Shahini told HRANA’s reporter: “on February 15, 2017, the prison officials took to the ward and beat Reza and insulted him, for example, told him ‘you are a hostage, you thought you are American? No Information about Payam Shakiba after Being Arrested

HRANA News Agency – Payam Shakiba, former member of the Islamic Society of Zanjan University and student of Allameh Tabatabai University has been arrested by the security forces, after leaving his house in Tehran, and was taken to an unknown location. So far, there is no information about his whereabouts and status and his relatives are worried about his health condition, because of his “acute migraine” disease.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Payam Shakiba, former member of the Islamic Society of Zanjan University and political science graduate student at Allameh Tabatabai University, was arrested by the security forces, after leaving his house in Tehran, and was taken to an unknown location, on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. A Prisoner Executed in Shahrood Prison

HRANA News Agency – A prisoner was executed on charge of possession and transportation of drugs in Shahrood prison.
