HRANA News Agency – Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, labor activist and political prisoner, is suffering from gum disease.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, labor activist and political prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison is suffering from gum disease and after visiting the prison clinic; he was told that it would be cured by medication and there was no need to go to a hospital outside the prison.
This labor activist recently faced a complaint lodged by one of the prison directors and a new case was opened for him, in prison. Earlier he was sentenced to seven years and ten months and eighteen days imprisonment. According to the informed sources, this sentence has not been notified to this political prisoner and labor activist yet.
It is to say that, Behnam Ebrahimzadeh is being held in hall 5 of ward 2 in Rajai Shahr prison, known as “Dar al Quran” with dangerous prisoners, serving his imprisonment
Behnam Ebrahimzadeh who has been held in prison for more than 5 years, following a retrial in December last year and in the first instance, was sentenced to another 9 and a half years imprisonment. The verdict was reduced to 7 years and 10 months and 18 days, after being revised and finalized and was notified to this prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison.
Behnam Ebrahimzadeh is one of the well-known labor activists and children’s rights activists. He has been held in prison since 2010 and was initially sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in the court which was reduced on the appeal to five years imprisonment.
