Cab drivers are on strike in Kamyaran

HRANA News Agency – Cab drivers in the city of Kamyaran, Kurdistan Province, have gone on strike to protest against low fares.

According to a report by the website of the Coordinating Committee to Create Labor Organizations, cab drivers in Kamyaran went on strike on Saturday, June 1, 2013.  The drivers have requested an increase in the amount of cab fare they are allowed to charge.

Cab drivers in Kamyaran have gone on strike several times in recent years.  Since Saturday, many residents have had to walk to their destinations because there are no taxis running in town.
