Cultural expert of Iranian Embassy is sentenced to prison

HRANA News Agency – Hamidreza Mohajerani the expert in cultural dialogue section of Iranian embassy in Qatar, has been sentenced to 5 years imprisonment.

 

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Hamidreza Mohajerani the cultural expert in Iranian embassy in Qatar has been sentenced to five years imprisonment after being in uncertain condition for more than seven months.

 

Mohajerani who was arrested by Intelligence agents in January of 2013, has been tried in branch 15 of Tehran revolutionary court by judge Salevati and sentenced to five years imprisonment according to article 508 of Islamic punishment law on charge of espionage for the United States of America.

 

The warrant issued while the new version of Islamic punishment law has to be enforced compulsory since three months ago but the Tehran revolutionary court is issuing the warrants based on the old version.
