HRANA News Agency – A death row prisoner, who has started hunger strike in protest to discriminatory behavior of prison’s internal manager, is kept with handcuff and shackles in clinic of Rajaei Shahr prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mohammad Azizi, a prisoner who has been sentenced to death, started hunger strike a week ago, in protest to being transferred to another hall, which he claims to be because of discriminatory behavior of internal manager of prison.
It is reported that Mr. Azizi after spending few days in solitary confinement committed self-mutilation. This prisoner is being kept in prison’s clinic in a very bad condition in handcuffs and shackles, after his return from the hospital.
A close source to this prisoner explained the reason of his protest to HRANA’s reporter, “A week ago, Mr. Amiri, the internal manager of prison wanted to send him to a hall but he refused, and started his strike first at the door of the hall and then started hunger strike”.
This informed source added, “First he was transferred to the solitary confinement, but Mr. Azizi committed self-mutilation. He was transferred to the hospital and returned to the prison. For that reason he is being kept in a bad condition in prison’s clinic in handcuffs and shackles”.
Need to be mentioned that Mohammad Azizi is being kept since 6 years ago on death row in Ghezelhesar and Rajaei Shahr prisons for charges related to drugs and also homicide.
