Dismissed University Lecturer Begins a Sit-In in Tehran

HRANA News Agency – Ghasem Exiri Fard, University lecturer, who has been disqualified for “his womanlike voice” ‘by Khajeh Nasir University, has attempted to sit-in in front of the headquarters of this University.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), on Monday during this lecturer’s sit-in, several plainclothes tried to prevent him from standing in front of Khajeh Nasir University’s office and threatened him that he was going to be hit and arrested.

This University lecturer, regarding continuing his civil protest, has written, “From tomorrow at 4pm, I will stand in front of the Central office of Khajeh Nasir University at Valiasr- Mirdamad junction.”

Ghasem Exiri Fard, master physics lecturer, despite scientific competence (according to the testify by a group of students and lecturers from different scientific qualifications), has been deprived of teaching in this University by the Committee of General qualification of Khajeh Nasir University because of what has been expressed as “his womanlike voice and the fear of being ridicule by the students”.

This PHD of Physics and University lecturer, since Monday 20th April, has begun a sit-in demonstration with the slogan of “Right of work for all Citizens” to protest against the dismissal order of the university.

It is to say that, yesterday, Nasrin Sotoudeh and Bar Association demonstrators attended Ghasem Exiri’s sit-in in support of this civil movement for hours.
