Doctor Ali Rashidi sent on medical leave from prison

HRANA News Agency – Doctor Ali Rashidi, a prominent Economist and a Nationalist Activist serving his 2-year-imprisonment sentence at Evin Prison was sent on 6-day medical leave.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), today, 30 October 2014, Doctor Ali Rashidi a university lecturer, founder and the head of the Board of Economists of Iran and member of the leadership board of the National Front party has been sent to a 6 day medical leave .
It is important to mention that on 9 June, 2012, Ali Rashidi was sentenced at branch 15 of Islamic revolutionary Court ruled by Judge “Salavati”. This 77-year-old Economist was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment and 5 years deprivation of all civil rights ( any political, scientific and media activities) . In January, 2014, this sentence was approved by the appeal court and executed.
This sentence was given to him based on the statement published in November 2011 by National Front party in protest to the economic situation of the country. Intelligence authorities claimed that this statement was written by Dr Ali Rashidi and contained propaganda against state and insulted the Supreme Leader.
At the moment Dr Ali Rashidi is serving his sentence at Evin Prison and has been sent to 6 days sick leave due to medical reasons.
