Foad Rezazadeh Has Gone on Hunger Strike in Rajai Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – Foad Rezazadeh, Sunni prisoner of Rajai Shahr, has been on hunger strike for the past three weeks, in protest to rejection of his furlough request, despite the death of his father.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Foad Rezazadeh, Sunni prisoner of hall number 21 of ward number 7 of Rajaei Shahr prison, is on hunger strike since November 20, in protest to rejection of his furlough requests, despite the death of his father.
A close source to the family of this prisoner told HRANA’s reporter, “Father of Mr. Rezazadeh stroke last Monday. The Physicians said that his condition was bad and he would die. Mr. Rezazadeh requested furlough from prison’s manager due to his father’s condition, but it was rejected. After two days Mr. Rezazadeh’s father died and he insisted on his request and said that he had to be with his family during these hard times”.
This informed source continued, “again his request was rejected, therefore this prisoner started his hunger strike on Tuesday in protest to this issue and demanded to be sent to furlough”.
Need to be mentioned, Foad Rezazadeh, is a Sunni prisoner who was sentenced to 5 years in prison and has been in prison since 3 years and 5 months ago.
This prisoner was arrested in 2011 and imprisoned for 1 year and 6 months.
