Hakimeh Shokri Released from Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Hakimeh Shokri, political prisoner in women’s ward of Evin prison, was released by the end of her sentence.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Hakimeh Shokri, civil activist and one of the “Mothers of Laleh Park”, was released from prison on Monday 12th July, by the end of the legal sentence.

Ms. Shokri for the first time was arrested on 5th December 2010 at the funeral of Amir Arshd Tajmir, one of those who were killed in the events after the elections, and after about two and a half months in detention in ward 209 of Evin prison, she was released on the bail.

She was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment by the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided by Judge Moghiseh, on 11th April 2012, on charges of “propaganda against the system” and “acting against national security”. Hakimeh Shokri had been in prison from October the same year to serve her imprisonment.

Hakimeh Shokri had been previously imprisoned in Gharchak Varamin prison and was returned again to Evin prison.
