HRANA News Agency – Hamid Reza Yazdani, political prisoner in ward 8 of Evin prison, was sent on a five-day-leave.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), this late leave, despite previous requests was delayed by the judicial authorities and Hamid Yazdani was unable to attend his brother’s funeral and burial.
Mr. Yazdani’s brother passed away, early July this year, because of cancer due to progression of the disease and despite repeated requests for leave by this prisoner for a last meeting with his brother, prison officials did not agree with it.
Hamid Reza Yazdani was arrested for the first time on 27th December, on charges of revealing a very secret, classified letter from leadership office in virtual space based on adding the suffix “Imam” in front of the Khamenei’s name, and was taken to the prison.
He was released after a few months of his arrest, on a bail of 500 million Tomans, but finally, in 2013, he was tried on charges of insulting the leadership, gathering and collusion against national security and disclosing confidential documents by judge Salvati, and was sentenced to five years and a half imprisonment.
Hamid Reza Yazdani was arrested again on 25th May 2014 to serve his sentence and was sent to ward 8 of Evin Prison and in November 2014, he was notified of one year rebate of his five years and a half imprisonment sentence.
