Hossain Rounaghi Maleki Sent to Furlough

HRANA News Agency – Hossain Rounaghi Maleki is sent to medical furlough.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Hossain Rounaghi Maleki has been sent to medical furlough from ward number 7 of Evin prison, by the recommendation of prison physicians, on Wednesday June 17.
Hossain Rounaghi Maleki was previously kept in ward number 350 and had been released from prison for acute kidney problems and the risk of losing them. Different reasons were regarded for this temporary release, such as supreme leader’s pardon, intolerance of sentence and medical furlough. But he was summoned and imprisoned for unknown reasons last March.
Hossain Rounaghi Maleki, blogger and human rights activist, was arrested on December 13, 2009 and after being kept for 10 months in ward 2-A (controlled by revolutionary guard) in Evin prison, was sentenced to 15 years in prison by branch number 26 of revolutionary court, on October 5, 2010.
His case was sent to appeal court on November 20, 2010 but it was confirmed by branch number 54 of court of appeal on December 1, 2010 and he was transferred to ward 350 of Evin prison. His charges are membership in Iran Proxy network, insulting supreme leader and insulting the president.
