At Least 7 Prisoners Executed in Rajai Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – 11 prisoners who had been transferred to solitary confinement were executed in Raja Shahr prison; at least 7 of these prisoners had retaliation sentences.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), at least 11 prisoners who had received retaliation sentences had been transferred to solitary confinements on July 2nd. The death sentences of at least seven of these prisoners were executed.
HRANA identified two of these prisoners as Ghahreman Ali Abbaspoor and Abbas Yousefi.
Seven of these prisoners were executed by hanging and four were sent back to the ward, by the consent of the next of the kin.
Reza Nayati and Seyed Mohammad Seyedabdullah are two of the prisoners who could get the consent and were saved from execution.
HRANA had identified 5 of the prisoners who had been transferred to solitary confinement on July 2 as: Ghahreman Ali Abbaspoor, Reza Nayati, Seyed Mohammad Seyedabdullah, Abbas Yousefi and Omid Rostami.
These prisoners who were transferred to solitary confinement on July 2nd, could have the last visit with their families.
Ghahreman Ali Abbaspoor was charged with murder in a tribal conflict and sentenced to death while there was lack of evidence and the sentence was only based on judge decision.
An informed source told HRANA’s reporter, “Ghahreman Ali Abbaspoor was sentenced to death in court number 71 of judicial court of Tehran province, based on first confession of defendant, and judge decided that due to the size of the defendant he could not had forced to confess under torture and pressure. This is while first the judge had rejected the confession and dropped it. The death sentence was confirmed by supreme court as well”.
Omd Rostami from Islamshahr town, is another prisoner who has executed on charge of homicide, while he was 28 years old.
