At Least 8 Prisoners Executed in Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj

HRANA News Agency – At least eight prisoners charged with “murder” were executed in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj. It is to say that, two other prisoners were executed in Tabriz Central Prison and one prisoner in Adel Abad prison, in Shiraz, on similar charges.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), at least 14 prisoners charged with murder had been transferred to solitary confinement in Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj, on April 16, 2017, and at least eight of them were executed in this prison, on April 18.

Two of them were prisoners who had been convicted of several charges, and were serving their imprisonment in Ghezelhesar prison, in Karaj, and had been transferred to Rajai Shahr prison for execution.

“Mehdi Bohlouli” was one the prisoners in this large group who had been transferred to solitary confinement, who according to Amnesty International, was 17 years old at the time of crime. He was one the prisoners whose sentence was postponed by the victim’s family’s permission and he was transferred to the general ward.

Mohsen Babaei (charged with murder), Siamak Shafiei (charged with murder), Farzad Ghahraman (charged with murder), Vahid Seilani (charged with murder), Sirous Moradi (charged with murder), Hashem Sanaei (charged with murder and armed robbery), Seyed Davood (only first name is known, he is co-defendant with Hashem Sanaei, charged with armed robbery and complicity in murder), and another prisoner whose identity is not known, were executed in Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj.

In addition Mehdi Bohlouli, Hassan Sahranavard, Davood Haghjoo, and three other prisoners whose identities have not been obtained, including two prisoners who had been transferred from Ghezelhesar prison, were returned to their wards, for reasons including getting time from the next of kin of victims.
