Mahdieh Golroo and Majid Dorri Still Deprived Of Studying In The University
HRANA News Agency – Mahdieh Golroo and Majid Dorri, two student activist and former political prisoner who have been expelled from the university because of being imprisoned as unauthorized absence, are still deprived of education.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mahdieh Golroo has announced that when she attended the University of Allameh Tabatabai she found out that they are still banned of education and mentioning their imprisonment, wrote: “We were expelled on the basis of Article 20, unjustified absence.”
Mahdieh Golroo and Majid Dorri, are two of student activists who were arrested and imprisoned because of their student activities and they have been expelled from the university by taking into account the years of imprisonment as unjustified absences.
Although in the recent years a lot of promises have been given regarding resolution of the problems of expelled students, but the exclusion of a large number of those who were expelled in the previous years and during the protests in 2009, still continues.
“Starred Students” was applied to those who were expelled from the university because of their student activities, and by a commitment to inactivity, they are allowed to continue their studies.
