HRANA News Agency – A citizen of Malekan who had committed self-immolation in front of the city Justice Office, died and his funeral and burial was held in the presence of security forces.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Sirous Nikkhoo, son of Rustam, 45, from the village of Laker of Malekan, who had burned himself by petrol in front of the Malekan Justice Office, on Monday 28^th September, died on 3^rd October afternoon and his funeral and burial was held in the presence of security forces.

According to this report, his funeral was held under high security condition with the presence of security forces and plainclothes agents including men and women, on 3^rd October.

Security agents also prevented the notification regarding the funeral ceremony and prevented the funeral notices being pasted on boards and controlled paths leading to the Laker village and the traffic was strictly controlled.

Also according to the same report, the security forces have filmed the funeral.

It is to say that the door of Justice Office in Malekan city had been shut to the clients, from early hours of that morning.

It should be noted that according to the reports, received from reliable sources and eye witnesses, some fire engines also were seen in front of the ​​Justice Office and security and police forces had covered Malekan Justice Office.

Earlier it was reported that the reason of the self-immolation by Sirous Nikkhoo, was neglecting a case related to “someone who helped his 14-year-old daughter to escape”, by the Malekan Attorney, presided by Peyman Mohammadpour and investigation office, chaired by Bayazdi.

Sirous Nikkhoo’s protest has been announced as a reaction towards the lack of attention by the relevant authorities and their refusal to respond to this case.

He was transferred to Tabriz Sina Hospital and because of burns up to 70 percent, according to his relatives, he died at the hospital.

It has been said that the Prosecutor of Malekan summoned Sirous Nikkhoo’s relatives and friends and has threatened them that he will arrest them if they do any notifications in this connection.
