HRANA News Agency – Mohsen Barzgra, political prisoner, was beaten at the prison of Babol.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), a dangerous criminal prisoner attacked Mohsen Barzgar after insulting him. The prisoner is sentenced to death and threatened Mohsen Barzgar to death while other prisoners were there, too.
Mohsen Barzgar was a member of Mehdi Karroubi’s election campaign in 2009 and a member of campaign to support Hassan Rohani during the recent presidential elections. He was arrested on February 14, 2011 and sentenced to 1 year in prison.
“We have talked with the authorities of the prison and they have promised us to investigate the case.” Said Mohsen Barzgar’s father
There have been other political prisoners being beaten by other prisoners at the prison of Babol however the authorities have done nothing to prevent such incidents.
