HRANA News Agency – Omid Soleimani, writer and journalist from Paweh, was arrested by intelligence agents in Sanandaj and there is no information regarding his condition and location.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Omid Soleimani, a member of the Iranian Writers’ Association and a journalist from Paweh was arrested without a warrant by the Ministry of Intelligence plainclothes forces in Sanandaj when he was visiting an exhibition at the Bahman Cinema and was transferred to an unknown location, on Thursday, 13th May.
His brother by announcing this news in a conversation with HRANA said: “Omid is a student of Sanandaj University and on Thursday 13th May, he went to visit an exhibition in Bahman Cinema in this city along with his friends and was arrested by plainclothes forces without a warrant or any explanation and was taken to an unknown location. Despite his family and friends’ follow-up there is no information about his situation and location yet.”
Mr. Soleimani, regarding his brothers’ activities said: “Last year Omid was expelled for one semester from Art University in Sanandaj, that was brokered by university authorities and he could reenroll. We do not know anything regarding the reason of his arrest, but Omid is a member of Writers’ Association. He has written several books so far and he used to work with “Navaye Waght” and “Didgah” newspapers in Kermanshah and Didgah is banned recently.”
He continued: “Omid had been arrested twice before, once at our home and they took his computer and belongings, and another time at the University which led to his expulsion from the University.”
Omid Soleimani, poet and author has published many works including “The Minstrel of isolation”, “Mystery of the Pyramids, Area 51”, and “Cursed wishes curse”. His artistic pseudonym is “Trench”.
