A Political Prisoner Of Uremia Prison Transferred To Solitary Confinement

HRANA News Agency – Rahman Rashidzadeh, political prisoner of Uremia prison who has started hunger strike in protest to being kept along with non-political prisoners was transferred to solitary confinement.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Rahman Rashidzadeh announced his hunger strike on Thursday January 14th and in the afternoon of the same day he was transferred to solitary confinement.
Mr. Rashidzadeh was being kept in ward number 13 of Uremia prison and asked the prison authorities to be transferred to political prisoners’ ward.
Rahman Rashidzadeh, the Kurdish citizen and resident of Uremia was arrested last August. He is charged with collusion and acts against the national security and has been sentenced to 3 years in prison.
This prisoner was attacked and injured by other prisoner with violent crimes in November.
Mostafa Sabzi, other political prisoner of Uremia, is in solitary confinement since January 13, after starting his hunger strike.
Bahman Dalayi Milan and Raouf Mohammadali, two other prisoner of Uremia were sent to solitary confinement for same reason in December 2015. Bahman Dalayi Milan was transferred to political prisoners’ ward but Raouf Mohammadali is still kept in ward number 5 which is called psychic ward.
According to HRANA’s sources 27 political prisoners are kept in different wards of Uremia prison with non-political prisoners.
