A Prisoner Executed in the Prison of Salmas
HRANA News Agency – A prisoner with drug-related charges, was hanged in the prison of Salmas on December 7. He was executed while according to his associates, his request for a retrial was pending in the Supreme Court.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ali Chartagh with drug-related charge, was hanged in the prison of Salmas on December 7.
He was executed while following his request for a retrial, his case was submitted to Branch 38 of the Supreme Court by judge Latifi Rostami.
Mr. Chartagh’s brother told HRANA’s reporter, “While my brother was innocent, he was forced to confess that he had been involved in the crime. While on the basis of the confessions, he must have been charged with abetting which ultimately would have ended in life imprisonment. ”
He had added, “About 2 am on December 7, they called me and said, ‘your brother was transferred to the quarantine for execution and you should come here for last meeting and he will be executed on 12 o’clock on December 7.’ The family went to meet him. The case was supposed to be sent to the Court on December 8.”
Ali Chartagh were kept in Salmas prison since 2011 and his execution had been postponed twice.
