A Prisoner at Zahedan Prison Died because of Lack of Medical Treatment

HRANA News Agency – One of the prisoners of central prison of Zahedan, who was imprisoned for minor crimes, died – according to other prisoners – due to disease and medical negligence. Wardens did not take the corps out of ward from 7am to 10am.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), a prisoner who was imprisoned for minor crimes, was found dead on Wednesday, January 14, at 7am, in ward number 5 of central prison of Zahedan and authorities refused to take the corps out of the ward till 10 am.
A prisoner told HRANA’s reporter, “Mr. Jalalvand was the prisoner of ward number 5 and has been found dead due to his diseases and medical negligence but prison authorities refused to take the corps out of ward till 10am”.
He also said, “This prisoner was from Ilam and had been imprisoned for crimes related to drugs”.
This source complained about the sanitary condition of this prison and said, “There is a prisoner who suffers from diabetes and his hand need to be amputated but authorities refuse to provide medical treatment for him”.
