HRANA News Agency – The general condition of Ramadan Ahmad Kamal, Syrian political prisoner, is reported critical, on the 5th day of his hunger strike in Rajaei Shahr prison. The prison staff handcuffed him and injected him the serum with force.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ramadan Ahmad Kamal, son of Moslem, Syrian Kurdish prisoner of Rajaei Shahr prison, who is on his 5th day of hunger strike, passed out due to severe weakness. His general condition is reported critical.
This political prisoner who started his hunger strike on last Sunday, has been transferred to prison clinic 3 times, in only 2 days. Last day the prison staff handcuffed him and injected the serum with force.
Ramadan Ahmad Kamal was arrested in 2009, along with three other PKK members. It is said that they entered the Iranian territories mistakenly.
He was sentenced to death in the revolutionary court of Khoy, but this sentence was reduced to 10 years in the Supreme Court.
During his arrest in 2009, border patrols shot him on abdomen, left shoulder and thigh in order to stop him.
These bullets are not taken out after 8 years and lack of medical treatment has caused him sever infection and loss of his left hand’s muscle.
He had many hunger strikes regarding his condition.
Although amnesty international issued a statement and said that this Syrian prisoner required surgery operation and needed imminent treatment, but no action has been taken by the Iranian judiciary yet.
Ramadan Kamal in currently serving his 7th year in hall number 12 of Rajaei Shahr prison.
