A Report about Amir Hossein Seirafi’s Situation in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Amir Hossien (Iman) Seirafi was arrested in 2013 and was held in solitary confinement in ward 209 of Evin prison for more than a month. A year later he was sentenced to 7 years in prison and 3 years of probation on charge of “communicating with enemy states” by Branch 15 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court by Judge Salvati.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Amir Hossien (Iman) Seirafi was arrested by security forces at his house on November 18, 2013.
Seirafi was transferred to ward 209 of Evin Prison after being arrested and after spending over a month in solitary confinement, he was sent to ward 350 of Evin prison.
Finally, after more than a year of detention, he was sentenced to 7 years in prison and 3 years of probation on charge of “communicating with enemy states” by Branch 15 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court by Judge Salvati in 2015. The verdict was upheld in the Appeal Court and was notified to him in this month.
His family has always asked for documentation and legal reasons for his arrest. A close source to Seirafi family told about the status of his case to HRANA’s reporter: “Amir’s family demanded a retrial 8 months ago. But their letters were never received and got lost on the way.”
Amir Hossien (Iman) Seirafi is serving his sentence in poor conditions in hall 12 of ward 7 in Evin prison.
