A Report on Mohammad Reza Bagheri’s Situation in Vakil Abad Prison

HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Reza Bagheri, law student, has been held in Vakil Abad prison in Mashhad, from 2010, without leaves.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mohammad Reza Bagheri, master student of law in Azad University of Shirvan, was charged with supporting opposition of Iranian regime, spreading rumors, defaming judicial authorities and intelligence authorities in Bojnoord, and has been sentenced to 9 years in prison and since 2010 has been held in Vakil Abad Prison in Mashhad.
This political prisoner’s brother told “HRANA’s” reporter: “Mohammad Reza, used to give legal advises to people who had been accused by Judiciary system after the general elections in 2009, so that, he was framed by the security of University and eventually, he was sentenced to 9 years imprisonment.”
This source added: “After many times pursuing his case and appeal from the Supreme Court, his sentence was reduced to 18 months in branch 14 of Supreme Court but for the final decision they referred the case to an equal court in North Khorasan (Bojnoord).  Branch 6 of appeal court in North Khorasan rejected the Supreme Court’s verdict and by sending him to Vakil Abad prison, along with a hand written court verdict, confirmed the first court’s verdict. He has been refused to have leave from prison since then, because two Intelligence agents in Bojnoord, with alias names; Rezazadeh and Ebrahimi, have threatened and advised that court branch in Bojnoord and Vakil Abad Prison in Mashhad. ”
He also stated: “My brother’s wife is ill and they have 3 children. After 18 months freezing home ownership document, they postpone the leave every week and this has become like a psychological and emotional torture for Mohammad Reza and his family.”
