Saeed Husseinzadeh Movahed Returned to Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Saeed Husseinzadeh Movahed, civil rights activist who was on medical furlough, was arrested and transferred to Evin prison on July 11 after showing up at Tehran Prosecutor’s office. He had gone there to to provide medical records to extend his furlough.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Saeed Husseinzadeh Movahed whose furlough was not extended, was arrested and transferred to the quarantine of ward 4 of Evin prison after showing up at Tehran Prosecutor’s office on July 11.
A close source to the civil rights activist confirmed the news in an interview with HRANA’s reporter and told: “Mr. Husseinzadeh went to the prosecutor to provide medical records to extend his furlough but was transferred to the quarantine of ward 4 of Evin prison.”
It should be reminded that Mr. Husseinzadeh Movahed was sent to medical furlough after a hunger strike.
During his hunger strike, Amnesty International expressed their concern in a statement with the title “ill prisoner of conscience on hunger strike” addressing the “hunger strike of Saeed Husseinzadeh”, children’s rights activist and prisoner of Evin prison and “his critical condition”.
Saeed Husseinzadeh was arrested at his house by the Revolutionary Guards and was transferred to solitary confinement in ward 2-A of Evin Prison in 2014.
He was sentenced to seven years in prison on charge of propaganda against the regime and insulting the supreme leader in Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court presided over by Judge Moghiseh. The verdict was upheld by Judge Zargar of Branch 36 of Appeal Court.
