Saeid Shirzad Ends Hunger Strike after 39 Days
HRANA News Agency – Saeid Shirzad, political prisoner of Rajaei Shahr prison, ended his hunger strike after 39 days, after having a meeting with the authorities and their promises about consideration of his demands. Ali Shariati, another political prisoner who is imprisoned in Evin prison also ended his hunger strike on the 70th day, in response to the requests made by civil rights and political activists.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Saeid Shirzad, political prisoner of Rajaei Shahr prison, ended his hunger strike after a meeting with the representative of the prosecutor and prison’s judge supervisor and after they promised to consider his demands.
Mr. Shirzad started this strike on December 7, 2016 and a day before he was transferred to Imam Khomaini hospital due to his bad health condition.
After ending the strike, this prisoner was transferred to prison’s clinic and received nutrient serum.
When Mr. Shirzad was transferred to Imama Khomaini hospital, he was checked and it was found out that he was suffering from gastric acid secretion and dehydration.
This prisoner was transferred to Rajaei Shahr prison at 5 am, after refusing to receive nutrient serum and he just received a serum for normalization of his heart pulse.
Need to be reminded that Saeid Shirzad had started his hunger strike on December 7, in protest to the condition of ill prisoners and lack of security of political prisoners.
