HRANA News Agency – Shapour Rashno, a political activist who had previously been sentenced to imprisonment in exile on charge of propaganda against the regime and had been detained in Ahvaz’s Intelligence Office for a while, was finally exiled to Adel Abad prison in Shiraz to serve his imprisonment sentence.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Shapour Rashno, national-religious activist from Khuzestan, who had previously been sentenced to four months of imprisonment on charge of propaganda against the regime, was exiled to Adel Abad prison in Shiraz to serve his imprisonment sentence, he is a doctoral student of political science.

In addition to a definitive conviction, this national-religious activist from Andimeshk city, was again arrested on charge of propaganda against the regime at his home in Shahid Dezfuli Street in Andimeshk, by the forces of the Ahvaz City Intelligence Office, on January 7 and from that date to the time of exile to Shiraz, was held in the detention center of this force.

Considering the execution of imprisonment sentence in exile for the previous case, it is not clear what kind of legal proceedings his case will take.

The close relatives of Mr. Rashno told HRANA’s reporter: “This political prisoner has lost at least 12 kilograms of his weight since his arrest, and only has only been twice allowed to contact his family.”

Mr. Rashno was arrested earlier in 2015 along with Ali Mohammad Jahangiri, Ezzatullah Jafari, Abdolreza Shakeri, Amir Rahim Khani and his mother, and Ali Nejati of the Haft Tappeh Workers’ Union.

At the time of the previous detention, during the raid of the Revolutionary Guard’s intelligence forces into Shapour Rashno’s house, due to fear and nervous pressure on his wife, who was pregnant, she lost her baby. Mrs. Rashno went to the hospital after the incident and spent several days there for an abortion.

Zainab Keshvari, Mr. Rashno’s wife, sued the security forces, but refused to continue the complaint due to the pressure of the Revolutionary Guards’ Intelligence. On the other hand, a new case was formed against her on charge of propaganda against regime, for which she was ultimately fined a 40 million IRR.
