HRANA News Agency – The lawyer of Siamak Mirzaee, political prisoner in Evin, announced that his client’s appeal court was determined.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Siamak Mirzaee’s case has been sent to Branch 36 of Tehran Appeals Court headed by judge Zargar.

On February 7, 2017, the lawyer went to Baharestan Revolutionary Court and delivered a bill to protest against the sentence of ten years in prison and two years of exile in Tabas.

The sentence was issued while based on a 6-page verdict which was delivered to the lawyer of Mr. Mirzaee, no evidence has been provided to prove his charge.

Also the authorities had refused to release him on the bail of one billion IRR and handed over the directions to the Court of Appeal.

Earlier judge Rajabi, magistrate of case had told Mr. Mirzaee’s father that the interrogators of ward 209 of Evin instanced on rejection of the bail.

On July 14, 2016 Siamak Mirzaee had been arrested by security forces at his workplace in Pars Abad and then transferred to ward 209 of Evin prison.

Siamak Mirzaee, Turkish (Azeri) activist and master’s degree student who is suspended from education had been sentenced to five years in prison in 2011.
