Prisoner Executed in Nahavand Prison

HRANA – At dawn on Monday, October 20, a prisoner previously sentenced to death on a murder charge was executed in Nahavand Prison.

According to HRANA, the identity of the executed prisoner has been confirmed as Noor-Mohammad Asgari.

Based on information obtained by HRANA, Mr. Asgari had been arrested on a murder charge and later sentenced to death by a criminal court.

As of the time of this report, prison and judicial authorities have not officially announced or commented on the execution.

In 2024, according to 812 reports compiled by HRANA, the Iranian regime executed 930 individuals in its prisons, marking the highest number of executions in the past 12 years. Despite the scale of these executions, prison officials and other relevant authorities publicly acknowledged only 6% of them, highlighting the regime’s lack of transparency and accountability.

Execution of a Prisoner in Nahavand Prison

HRANA – At dawn on Wednesday, September 24, a prisoner previously sentenced to death on a murder charge was executed in Nahavand Prison.

HRANA has confirmed the identity of the prisoner as Bijan Soleimani. Based on information received by HRANA, Mr. Soleimani had previously been arrested on a murder charge and later sentenced to death by a criminal court.

As of the time of this report, the execution has not been announced by prison authorities or judicial officials.

Three Prisoners Executed in Nahavand, Dezful, and Hamedan

HRANA-Between Monday and Wednesday, August 11–13, three prisoners were executed in the prisons of Nahavand, Dezful, and Hamedan.

According to HRANA, on Monday, Saber Akbari, who had been arrested on a murder charge, was executed in Nahavand Prison. He had been sentenced to death by the Criminal Court.

On Tuesday, Dezful Prison carried out the execution of Hamid Sarlak, also convicted of murder.

On Wednesday, another prisoner, identified as Javad Esfandiari, was executed in Hamedan Prison. He had previously been arrested on drug-related charges and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.

At the time of this report, the executions have not been announced by prison authorities or official sources.

HRANA – At dawn on Tuesday, July 29, the execution of a prisoner previously sentenced to death on a murder charge was carried out in Nahavand Prison.

HRANA has identified the individual as Arash Mohammadi, 36 years old, who was hanged at dawn on Tuesday, July 29. According to information received by HRANA, Mr. Mohammadi was arrested three years ago on a murder charge and later sentenced to death by a criminal court.

As of the time of this report, his execution has not been officially announced by prison authorities or relevant institutions.

In 2024, Iranian prisons witnessed the execution of 930 inmates. According to HRANA’s data, the number of executions carried out by the Iranian regime’s judiciary has risen steadily over the past five years. The percentage of executions related to drug charges has also increased year after year.

Prisoner Executed in Nahavand Prison for Drug Offenses

At dawn today, December 24, a prisoner previously sentenced to death on drug-related charges was executed in Nahavand Prison.

The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by HRANA as Ali Rahm Khani, 35, a resident of a village in the Chegeni County.

Based on information received by HRANA, Mr. Rahm Khani had been arrested on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court. He was transferred to solitary confinement yesterday in preparation for the execution.

As of the time of this report, the execution has not been publicly announced by prison authorities or relevant officials.

Prisoner Executed in Nahavand Prison

At dawn on December 15, the death sentence of a prisoner previously convicted of murder was carried out in Nahavand Prison, located in Hamedan Province.

The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by HRANA as Ali Morad Dehghani. He had been arrested on charges of murder and later sentenced to death by the Criminal Court.

As of the time of this report, prison officials and relevant authorities have not publicly announced the execution.

According to latest HRANA’s annual report over between October 10, 2023, and October 8, 2024, at least 811 individuals were executed by hanging in Iran, rising to 23.06% compared to the same period last year. Of these executions, four were carried out in public. Many of the defendants were denied a fair trial.
