Uncertain condition of a Kurdish death row prisoner
HRANA News Agency – Mansour Arvand the Mahabadi prisoner sentenced to death is still waiting for the decision of the supreme court.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mansour Arvand who was arrested in June 2011 at home, has been sentenced to execution in July 2012 on charge of enmity against God through collaboration with a subversive Kurdish party.
His dossier has been transferred to supreme court as he appealed the verdict but there is no answer till now from judicial officials to him or his family.
Mansour’s brother told HRANA reporter “Mansour was deprived of having access to lawyer and his trial was not fair. He was tortured during the interrogations and his teeth have been damaged severely and it is very clear in the captured video of my brother presented by Press TV. One of my brother cellmates who was freed told us that my brother’s feet nails were pulled out as he was tortured for avowal.”
“My brother suffers from kidney severe issues which appeared after he has been arrested and it seems the reason of this issue is as he was beaten a lot. Now his kidneys have infections and the authorities ignored his medical treatment process and did not transfer him to hospital.”
