HRANA News Agency – Yousef Hassanzadeh, 58, from Tehran should go to Evin prison to serve the 10-year-imprisonment sentence.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), he has been sentenced to 10 years in prison on charge of anti-regime activities through Internet and phone calls and contact with Christians Church in Belgium.

He was arrested on 29 mordad 93 on charges of disturbing the public order through contact with Christians abroad, propagating Christianity, participating in anti-regime activities through Internet and phone calls and contact with Christians in Belgium and was transferred to Evin Prison.

He was released on the bail and tried last March and sentenced to 10 years in prison which has been upheld by the Court of Appeal.

One of his relatives told HRANA’s reporter: “Mr. Hassanzadeh is not Christian and does not consider himself Christian. He has received such a heavy sentence because of his contact with his relatives who are active in churches in Belgium.”

Mr. Hassanzadeh suffers from heart diseases and long term imprisonment can damage his health.
