1000 Days Without Furlough: Akbar Amini Armaki
HRANA News Agency – Akbar Amini Armaki has served the thousandth day of imprisonment without furlough in Evin prison. He was sentenced to a total of 10 years in prison and five years deprivation of membership in any parties during four years and in three cases. He is in prison since elections of 2013.
On February 15, 2010 Akbar Amini Armaki was detained by the officers of Ministry of Intelligence for the first time in a symbolic protest against the arrests and also encounters with protesters after the presidential elections in 2009 and raising green flag above a construction crane in front of the Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court. He was under psychological and physical torture in the solitary confinement for months in ward 209 of Evin prison in order to admit to mental instability.
The political prisoner was sentenced to two years in prison in July 2010 by Branch 15 of the Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court, presided by Judge Salvati on charges of gathering and colluding with intention to engage in actions against the national security.
He was arrested a few days before the presidential elections in 2013 as preventive detention and spent more than a hundred days in solitary confinement and experienced interrogations under pressure. He was sentenced again to 5 years imprisonment and 5 years deprivation of membership in political parties by Branch 15 Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court, on charges of gathering and colluding against national security and propaganda against the regime. The verdict issued by branch 54 of the appeals court was confirmed objectively.
Akbar Amini is also one of the victims of the raid in Ward 350 Evin known as “Black Thursday” on 15 April 2013. On this day the anti-riot forces of Evin prison during a raid to this ward and widespread beating of prisoners injured a large number of the prisoners and transferred many to solitary confinements.
After the incident, a large number of political prisoners in ward 350 including Akbar Amini, Mohammad Sadiq Kaboudvand, Javad Fouladvand , Samoko Khelghati, Farshid Fathi, Sohail Babadi and Massoud Arab Choobdar suffered from serious injuries.
Akbar Amini was sentenced to three years in prison for the third time in January 2014 by Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court on charges of gathering and colluding against the national security.
This political prisoner of ward 350 of Evin prison spending the thousandth day of his imprisonment while he has been deprived of furlough so far.
This is while that he also had spent more than a year in prison between 2009 and 2010.
