HRANA News Agency – The strike of more than 1800 death row prisoners of Ghezelhesar prison is continuing.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), some prisoners of unit two of Ghezelhesar’s prison went on hunger strike, in response to transfers of 11 prisoners to solitary confinement, on Monday, November 21 and being executed the next day.

One of the Ghezelhesar’s prisoners told to HRANA’s reporter: “Hunger strike of prisoners who have been sentenced to death is still continuing and prisoners are asking for retrial.”

He added, “Some other ward have joined the hunger strike and prisoners’ demand is retrial for everybody who have been sentenced to death.”
