HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Hossein Karroubi was sentenced to six months imprisonment, due to publishing the letter of his father, Mehdi Karroubi, to Hassan Rouhani, regarding a public trial.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mohammad Karroubi has announced in his page that Mohammad Hossein Karroubi was sentenced to six months imprisonment, due to publishing the letter of his father, Mehdi Karroubi, to Hassan Rouhani, regarding a public trial.
It should be mentioned that Mohammad Hossein Karroubi was charged with “acting against national security” because of publishing the letter of his father, Mehdi Karroubi, to Hassan Rouhani, regarding a public trial, by Branch 2 of the security prosecutor in Evin, and then was released on a bail of 1000 million IRR, on October 19 last year.
Mohammad Hossein Karroubi had said: “One month ago with complaints about publicizing my father’s letter to Mr. Rouhani, along with my son, I was summoned to Evin Court. After four sessions of interrogation of my son and me, I was accused with ‘acting against national security’.”
Mr. Karroubi also added: “A bail of one billion IRR was issued for this charge which was related to a letter that seven months ago my father had sent to Mr. Rouhani. I along with my attorney, doctor Jalilian, attended the prosecutor’s office and I rejected the accusation of acting against national security, and I said; ‘Mr. Karroubi has had dozens of letters and statements written on his responsibility and now, because of the illegal house arrest that has been created for him, he has requested a public trial’.”
